Kettle Chips are about to launch a vegan cheese & onion flavour crisp in early January 2020. The flavour will be called Sheese & Red Onion due to their partnership with Bute island Foods who make vegan cheeses called sheese. Kettle Chips has also teamed up with internet vegan chef sensations Henry Firth and Ian Theasby collectively known as BOSH! The Chef duo have recently landed a vegan cookery show on mainstream television in the UK.
The new Sheese & Red Onion flavoured vegan crisps will be made in an entirely vegan factory to avoid cross contamination. Kettle’s new flavour will be available in Budgens stores to start with and then later rolled out to Tesco and Morrisons towards the end of the month of January.
There are many crisps out there that are already vegan but it may surprise people to know that there are actually more meat flavoured vegan crisps then there are cheese flavoured crisps. The lack of vegan cheese flavoured crisps make this launch all the more exciting.
With the success of the Gregg’s vegan sausage roll last Veganuary it’s no wonder other companies want to emulate that strategy. Vegan product launches are coming in thick and fast for January. Perhaps the biggest so far it the launch of the first McDonald’s vegan meal in the UK.
