Vegan Actor Joaquin Phoenix has joined a group called Animal Equality at a Protest in London. The Protest was raising awareness about how animal agriculture is destroying the environment. The protest urged people to go vegan which involved holding signs about factory farming and the benefits of veganism. The group of activists also dropped a Huge sign off the side of Tower Bridge which read: “Factory farming is destroying our planet. Go vegan.”
Joaquin Phoenix is no stranger to vegan protests. He’s a regular at the Water Before Slaughter events. He has been involved in numerous campaigns with PETA and led a protest for National Animal Rights Day in Hollywood. Late Last year The Actor gave a memorable Golden Globe acceptance speech in which he called out his fellow actors for travelling in private jets to Palm Springs. He also Praised the award ceremony for only serving plant based food.
The Joker star helped carry the sign across the famous London land mark and helped drop and secure it. He held signs and took photos with the public. Joaquin is in London for the 73rd Bafta awards and wanted to do something for animal rights while he was in England’s capital. Speaking to the press he said: ”this is my first banner drop so its just incredible to be here and see all the activists that are here dedicating their lives to this cause”
”When you witness the horror that really happens behind closed doors in slaughter houses to farm animals all over the world its impossible not to be affected by it and to realize that we have to do something drastic to stop it. so I’m just doing my part and trying to amplify the voice of these activists”
